CH. Still's Clairvoyant Augustus, JH | |
Gus was born at our house and quickly became a dog we knew would stay with us. He was our first AKC and CKC Champion, our first Junior Hunter. Our Gus was a smart, thinking, dog. He would watch us and learned things such as how to open doors and cabinets. Dead bolts and childproof latches were needed to discourage his adventures. Gus was a German Shorthaired Pointer ambassador. He visited schools and extended care facilities and had friends wherever he went. We attended our first GSPCA National Dog Show together and he went 2nd in the Hunt Test Dog Class. He also was our first choice for a baby-sitter when we had puppies. Gereth took him hunting in the Dakotas. There Gus learned to point pheasant roosters and hens differently, since hens weren't hunted. He was also our Porcupine Pointer - he hated porcupines and would point them out to the hunters. On one airline trip, he was in the hold and barked the whole trip. Upon landing, Gereth found out that the airlines had put Gus' kennel next to a crate of birds. We miss Gus and know that he is across the 'Rainbow Bridge' pointing birds and helping all the other dogs open the doors to go for a run. Gus was OFA hips good, CERF and Cardiac clear. We have frozen semen stored from him. Gus is our foundation stud. Pedigree |
